Capoeira
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that is built on the basis of fighting techniques, music and dance. In Capoeira there is no contact. The game includes hand and feet blows, smooth, circular movements and acrobatics that are adjusted to the physical capabilities and level of training.
Capoeira is played by the trainees that are placed in a circle. The game is accompanied by songs and music from different musical instruments: Berimbau- instrument with gourd and string, Atabaque-drum, Pandeiro- tambourine and other small instruments, depending on the academie, for example Agogo or Recco Recco.
Capoeira was born from the time of the slaves in Brazil. The slaves created a martial art with typical african dance movements in order conceal it from their slaveowners. Capoeira as we know it is formed at the beginning of last century. There is a combination of the aforementioned musical tools, techniques from the Japanese martial arts and typical ginga-waving way of movement.
